June Coffee Talk - Orphaned Calf Update!

Last month’s Coffee Talk introduced you to an orphaned calf on the ranch. At that point, we didn’t know the immediate fate of the big-eyed, big-eared, weeks-old baby. And while I know it’s best to not get attached (ha!) to an animal who typically isn’t destined to be a pet, I’m happy to share the little fella is doing well for now.

Meet Tucker (fondly named by the ranch owner’s daughter). He’s cute as a button, growing daily, and loves his 3x/daily bottle of milk. We take turns feeding him — our hearts softening with each long-lashed blink, sloppy slurp, and playful head-butt.

More than anything, I’m in awe of God’s creation—His love and care for even an orphaned calf among a herd of hundreds. It’s moments and experiences like this that make me slow down, breathe deeper . . . with prayer and thanksgiving for the goodness in life.

Do you have an animal story that tugs at your heart? Please share!
